Shrap is an independent, FCA-authorised start-up based in Poole, UK, which supports the future of cash by providing a digital alternative to coins. The service enables businesses to continue accepting cash, without the inconvenience and expense of handling coins.

When customers pay using cash, they receive any change anonymously – and for free – through the mobile app or a physical ‘Change Card’.

Businesses maintain a ‘float’ on the platform, with change issued through the app or EPoS integration. Customers can store their change and make fee-free, anonymous payments to businesses and friends conveniently from the app or card. No smartphone is required, and no personal details are needed to register, ensuring that it is inclusive of all in society.

The service is free to the public and small businesses.
