AI in Finance: Speed, Scale & the Human Touch | Jamie Renehan, Bank of Ireland
Jamie Renehan from Bank of Ireland talks about how AI, especially models like ChatGPT, is changing data work and what that means for workers. Renehan says AI tools now complete tasks in minutes like getting insights and showing data that used to take data analysts hours.
He thinks about how this impacts finance, accounting, auditing, and even law; though AI can do a lot, but Renehan says it can’t replace the human element. People can still understand, give context, and share insights in a way that matters, especially when guiding leaders or relating to customers.
He believes the important thing is how people can link what AI makes to what’s happening in the real world. That job of translating, he says, will always need a human touch, even as AI is used more at work.
