AWS’ Karen Mae Ching on Embedding vs Plug and Play for Smaller Institutions

Karen Mae Ching, Global Financial Services Partner Sales Program Lead at AWS, sits down with Doug Mackenzie to talk about the benefits of embedding vs plug & play systems for cloud banking in smaller institutions.

It all boils down to what we call open finance or open banking, that’s different API’s that you put together. I call them lego bricks you put together. It becomes a Rubik’s Cube and when it becomes a Rubik’s Cube again, that’s when you know that this system you can switch it off, innovate, and then switch it on again and go.”

“So again, take a look at what is that critical function that you would like to touch upon to really improve your obsessions. Then, we have a process of working backwards from the customer. What are those business drivers? We align it together similar to what I said earlier. You need to understand. What is that? How do we get from point A to point B?”
