We met up with Mastercard‘s Chief Digital Officer, Jorn Lambert, at the Paris Fintech Forum Leaders Summit, who provided FF News with exclusive insights on a wide range of topics Mastercard are engaged in, from generative AI and its facilitation of fraudulent activity, to financial inclusion via the ubiquity of mobile payments, digitization and blockchain and more.
“Payments has seen an enormous evolution that’s only accelerating… we’re bullish about what the future will be… more merchants out there, more small businesses enabling electronic payments, climbing the social and financial ladder, as they do so. And I think we are only at the start of that evolution as every mobile device becomes an acceptance device.”
“We’re not a card company, we’re a payments company, and we think the space for innovation on account to account is tremendous. And so we’re investing in… financial inclusion. There’s still over a billion consumers that have no access”
