BAE Systems Helping Banks Spot County Lines Drug Dealing
County lines is a type of drug dealing designed to exploit the young and vulnerable and therefore distance the real criminals from the threat of prosecution. There are an estimated 27,000 children involved in county lines drug dealing in the UK today, an industry that turns a profit of up to £800,000 every year.
To help combat the problem, BAE Systems have today launched a report revealing how their Applied Intelligence FinCrime Testing Service technology can help banks spot suspicious patterns in transaction data that may relate to county lines drug dealing. The report is designed to help banks better understand the profiles, behaviours and links between key indicators which could help them identify typical runners in these county lines operations.
