Finance Innovation Certifies 52 New French Fintechs

To mark the fifth year of Fin&Tech Community, a bi-annual event that brings together a range of stakeholders from France’s fintech ecosystem, 52 promising companies have today been awarded the ‘certificate of excellence’ by Finance Innovation, the body responsible for the promotion of and support for French fintech businesses.

Delivered in front of an audience of leading industry figures, Finance Innovation’s certificate of excellence introduces young growth companies to the centre of excellence’s network and allows them to benefit from support for their business development both in France and overseas.

Our aim is to increase the visibility of French fintech companies, to improve their access to finance and to give them the support of a network of professional contacts which can help them to develop their entrepreneurial projects,” explained Joëlle Durieux, managing director of Finance Innovation.

The new certificates have been issued among six key financial sectors:

  • 11 insurance start-ups
  • 11 in the banking sector
  • 10 asset management firms
  • 7 to accounting and consulting companies
  • 6 within the real estate sector
  • 7 social enterprises, forming part of the Social and Solidarity Economy

In 2016, 88 fintechs acquired the certificate of excellence. Yelloan, an innovative solution for participatory loans, was one of them, and subsequently received the award for ‘Fintech of the Year’ for 2016, also from Finance Innovation.

In 2017, our goal is to assist more than a hundred start-ups. Finance Innovation’s certificate is a mark of quality which stimulates financial innovation within mainland France and helps to spread the word about France’s entrepreneurial talent beyond our borders,” declared Jean-Hervé Lorenzi, President of Finance Innovation.
