Carpe Data Welcomes Glenn Shapiro to Board of Directors as New Chairman

Carpe Data, a leading provider of intelligent data solutions for the insurance industry, today announced that Glenn Shapiro has joined the Board of Directors as Chairman. An insurance veteran with more than three decades of senior claims leadership at major U.S. carriers, Shapiro brings unparalleled insights and a passion for innovation to lead the board during Carpe Data’s next chapter of growth.

“Carpe Data has been at the forefront of modernizing the claims processes, and the opportunity ahead is even greater,” said Glenn Shapiro. “I’ve seen first-hand how insurers are under immense pressure to deliver faster, fairer, and more consistent outcomes for customers. Carpe Data’s technology gives them a meaningful edge.”

Shapiro’s background in the insurance industry has given him extensive, hands-on expertise in claims innovation. As President of Allstate Insurance Company, he led large‑scale digital transformation programs, expanded automation across complex claims workflows, and championed advanced analytics to modernize decision‑making. He’s also held leadership roles at Liberty Mutual, Safeco Insurance, and Hartford Life.

“Glenn has been a driving force behind the industry’s evolution toward intelligent, tech-enabled claims management,” explains Geoff Andrews, Chief Operating Officer at Carpe Data. “His appointment is a strategic decision for the board, and an exciting gain for the future of our organization.”

Shapiro joins at a pivotal milestone for Carpe Data, as 2026 marks the company’s tenth anniversary. Founded in 2016, Carpe Data was the first insurance-focused firm to operationalize online and social media assessment for claims. Through the company’s claims solutions, insurers gain timely access to relevant, publicly available data that surfaces meaningful signals early in the claims process. Today, this approach continues to build on that decade of historical data, providing customers with patterns and insights unmatched by competing claims solutions on the market.
