Stinker Stores Improves Employee Retention by 45% Tenure With DailyPay

Stinker Stores, the Idaho-based gas station and convenience store chain, is marking their continued partnership with DailyPay – the leader of On-Demand Pay and financial wellness solutions. Dedicated to providing its employees with “nothing but the stinkin’ best workplace experience,” Stinker Stores first implemented DailyPay’s financial wellness benefit in 2020.

In 2025 alone, Stinker Stores has improved employee tenure by 45%, and reduced turnover by 37% from their partnership with DailyPay, according to internal data.

Throughout this partnership, Stinker Stores has been an early adopter in adding DailyPay’s financial wellness benefit to its total rewards package. DailyPay has been proven to increase employee satisfaction because employees no longer need to rely on a scheduled payday. Instead, they are able to access their earned wages after their shift.

Headquartered in Boise, ID, Stinker is a gas station chain and convenience store with over 100 locations across Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. Having been in business since 1936, they are not only known for their iconic skunk mascot – but their modern, stinkin’ approach to supporting hard-working employees and fostering a positive company culture. Their main value, “making the world a better place one employee, customer and community at a time”, shows in the way they support their dedicated workforce everyday.

“Our mission is to provide the best workplace experience, and our partnership with DailyPay is central to that,” says Frankie Lopez, Payroll & Benefits Manager at Stinker Stores. “Offering this innovative benefit has become a vital resource to our team, directly supporting their financial wellness and proving our dedication to being the ‘stinkin’ best’ is more than just a motto — it’s how we operate.”

Stinker was named as CStore Decisions’ 2025 Chain of the Year for their continuous commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and having people-first culture. To learn more about stinkin’ awesome career opportunities, check out all their current openings here.
